I had gotten an email about Claire Cronin’s new EP Proof of Names almost a month back. Unfortunately I was just starting an insanely busy bit of my life and the message got lost in the shuffle. Fortunately it’s just now turning into winter in Wisconsin and I don’t think I could have found a better time to start listening.
Claire Cronin - Weight of the Kill
Her songs are folksy but not cute. They echo around the room and feel heavy and strange like snow settling on the top of your head. You don’t realize what’s happening until it’s already happened.
What intrigued me the most about Claire Cronin is that she has done some different collaborative art performances at museums and galleries. Soon everything outside will be snowy and new and interesting. It makes me want to make art, and I’m glad I’ll have Claire’s music to accompany me.
