The Phantom Tollbooth, the almost-universally (and absolutely-personally) loved children’s novel celebrated its 50th anniversary earlier this year. Adam Gopnik did a really nice write-up about it for The New Yorker. Equal parts educational and entertaining… not unlike the book itself. Read it.

I’ve been involved with a lot of creative projects in my life and if I really sat down and thought about it, the fact that I read The Phantom Tollbooth about 100 times probably helped a lot.
