I just finished up this poster for Bro. Stephen’s in-store performance at Revival Records. Kinda different, right? That image is scanned in from a book about nature.
Niklaus Troxler is a Swiss designer who had his first apprenticeship as a typographer in 1963. Looking through the staggering number of posters (mostly for festivals, usually jazz) archived on his website it’s interesting to see which of his early ideas are now back in the design spotlight.
A very nice typeface called Rotonda by London-based designer Helios Capdevila. Cool names, all around. I feel a little nervous about the lowercase ‘i’ and ‘j’ but I love that it is based on an old Olivetti typewriter logo from 1932.

The DKNG process videos are all really wonderful and their newest, for the also delightful Portlandia, is no different. If the craftsmanship shown in the detailing of each little leaf doesn’t inspire your artistic endeavors… maybe go watch some Portlandia clips and then get back to the drawing board.
Bijan Berahimi has an incredible design style and every project in his portfolio shows it. But, right now I want to share his fun, friendly portrait project called Neighbors. It’s nice to come across projects that make it so you can’t help but smile.
