Hands - Magic Fingers

     I love the way this song makes my head spin as it’s blowing out my car speakers. It came on the CMJ mixtape from Dre over at Gluttony Is The New Black and I was reminded of it again when she talked with Lee Levin of Knox Road for her Get To Know Your Neighbor interview series. If you didn’t catch the first interview she did for it, look it up. And be excited for whatever’s coming next.

     I feel nervous that someday our paths might cross and I will have to try and pronounce her name… but she runs a really rad ship- so if you don’t follow The New Black, you for real should.

     So, Madonna at the Super Bowl halftime (joke about weird arms). Instead of inviting Cee-Lo (joke about weird fingers) it would have been neat to see some of the bands that covered her for the True Blue covers compilation by Paper Bag Records. A bunch of Madonna covers by The Acorn, Born Ruffians, and The Rural Alberta Advantage and more. And it’s free!

I’d like this weekend to be a delicate balance between nothing at all like and exactly the same as this video. And the same for you!

     The DKNG process videos are all really wonderful and their newest, for the also delightful Portlandia, is no different. If the craftsmanship shown in the detailing of each little leaf doesn’t inspire your artistic endeavors… maybe go watch some Portlandia clips and then get back to the drawing board.

     To mark a 1-year anniversary the film-making duo Feel Good Lost put together a showreel showing off the videos they’ve released in that time, and they’ve released some really fantastic stuff.
