I’ve been reading and loving the blog posts at OK Great for a while now. Which makes it all the more embarrassing that I just now realized that you can click on the header image to rotate between a whole slew of color variations.

The crew there posts about a ton of great artists from a really wide range of mediums, so definitely put OK Great on your list of blogs to check daily. And while you’re there you should click through header images looking for color inspiration like a crazy person. That’s what I did.

Speaking of Kickstarter- besides providing a really awesome service that has kicked off a whole slew of incredible projects, they have an excellent website!
It’s filled with some little things that really make the user experience a much more pleasant one. During the holiday season you should make a point of hovering over the logo. But, what you really should do is click that little scissors on the dotted line above the footer. Then click it again. Then click it again…
Repeat-X Repeat-Y is delightful. There seems to be about 1 million different tileable patterns displayed on their site and even though a good chunk of them probably don’t have a place in your next website design, they’re absolutely fun. And, it’s pretty impressive that the contributing illustrators worked some of these things out! Seriously, I keep noticing new ones that make me cringe, roll my eyes and smile.
I can’t understand the German parts (don’t worry, they translate to English) of the I LIKE BIRDS design studio’s website, but I really like to look at it.
It’s a really nice mix of super weird, but still absolutely functional. The dragging of the thumbnails is a little bit odd, but I don’t mind doing a little bit of work to see some of the really awesome projects they have to offer.
Teagan White has a very pretty and detailed illustration style. Each piece in her portfolio is well-thought out and wonderful. However, she gets extra bonus awesome points for her portfolio site itself. It actually reflects and enhances her work.

The trend these days is to have some weirdo coding or odd effect in place to make your stuff stand out. At the very least it should be minimal to the point of inconvenience. White’s site is flowery and rich and even though it’s not really my style, I enjoyed seeing something different. Especially when it contains such good stuff.
